The most intimate relationship ever

mindfulness mentoring Jocelyn Bailey LMHC South Bend

There is no more immediate, intimate relationship than the one you have with your own thoughts. Aren't they just right there, always passing through?

Try not to think anything. Just try.

Even in mindfulness or meditation practice, thoughts come, and thoughts go.

What happens next is the interesting part.

What do you do when a troubling thought comes, one you simply cannot get away from, even though its causing tremendous angst or stress?

Do you argue with it? Or maybe, if it's a particularly negative thought, find that it brings on a terrible feelings of worthlessness. Maybe the thought stirs anger or helps you build a case against someone else for the terrible way they spoke to you or didn't speak at all.

They ignored you.

What then?
